Apricot Sunset

Today my mind drifts to a warm, lush tropical color.
Apricot Sunsets
Peach Jam
 Tangerine Sorbet
and
Flamingos

Textures: Taped Edge and Simplicity

The original photograph

My favorite part of this composition are the apricot colored reflections.

Heart Thought: my grandmother made DELICIOUS peach jam with maraschino cherries and nuts.  The textured photo reminds me of the color of her jam. Recipe lost so long ago. Do you ever have regrets of lost snippets of paper you once held dear?

  1. Your image is lovely and the colors beautiful, but your Heart Thought made tears sting my eyes. There are indeed pieces of paper that I regret losing (or worse yet, throwing away) over the years. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking when I let them go. Actually, I remember what I was thinking. I just wish someone had stopped me.

  2. Lovely and luscious - apricot, peach, tangerine - both as sunset colors and as fruit. You have definitely captured their sunny warmth. Love the texture treatment of your image.

  3. This is such a beautiful photo and I love what you've done with the texturing as well.
Yep, I sure understand about the pieces of paper. Everytime I get rid of or lose something, I wish I had it back!

  4. Gorgeous! I loved this piece (and the original too). I think we all have regrets about things we've lost or let go of in our life. Thankfully we have the memories which help to keep them alive.
