Share the Joy Thursdays: the Details

Isn't there a song, "the little things in life are free." Hmmmm
maybe I am making this up.
Anyway
Sometimes the special small things, the details in life are free,  a GIFT.

While visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art
in New York City,
this gentleman dressed in a very fine kilt...
was intensely studying a painting by
Claude Monet.

He stood there the longest time. I wondered what he was wondering. What held his attention in the painting?

the somber colors?
the crashing waves?
the fragile cliff?
the tiny strokes of paint, Monet used?
the ornate frame?

To stand in front of a work of art, one usually is looking for the small details.

Anyway, why "friend" silently admired the painting,
I was noticing the DETAILS of HIS clothing
the very crisp pleats of his vibrantly colored kilt
the knee stockings straight and neatly folded over
the high shine of his shoes
and the wonder of him looking deeply into a painting.

It is really quite pleasant to take a few moments in our days and notice the details surrounding our lives.

  1. i especially love the way the colours of his kilt reflect the water lilies larger than life behind him. who could have planned something so perfectly aligned?
