Share the Joy Thursdays: the Details

Isn't there a song, "the little things in life are free." Hmmmm
maybe I am making this up.
Anyway
Sometimes the special small things, the details in life are free,  a GIFT.

While visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art
in New York City,
this gentleman dressed in a very fine kilt...
was intensely studying a painting by
Claude Monet.

He stood there the longest time. I wondered what he was wondering. What held his attention in the painting?

the somber colors?
the crashing waves?
the fragile cliff?
the tiny strokes of paint, Monet used?
the ornate frame?

To stand in front of a work of art, one usually is looking for the small details.

Anyway, why "friend" silently admired the painting,
I was noticing the DETAILS of HIS clothing
the very crisp pleats of his vibrantly colored kilt
the knee stockings straight and neatly folded over
the high shine of his shoes
and the wonder of him looking deeply into a painting.

It is really quite pleasant to take a few moments in our days and notice the details surrounding our lives.

Tuesday's Textures: Gratitude

There is little to not feel deep
gratitude for.
Each day there is something that I notice that I am
most appreciative of.

One moment it might be a tiny
lady bug delicately working her way
across the valleys of my palm.

Another
freely pouring clean water from
the kitchen faucet.

Today a bunch of
fall peaches
ripe, blemish free, sweet.
Abundant.

Thank you to Kim for the use of the following textures:
Bentedges and KK Grunge. In addition I removed texture from the peaches to let them shine...

Thank you to the Native Americans who lived first on this land.
For their wisdom that has been handed down through generations of time.

October News

Today is beyond beautiful....

weather dipped down to sweater temperature....

sky cerulean blue...clouds huge and puffy...

breezes blowing flag and swaying bird feeders....

just a wonderful way to come into Autumn.

Let us Dance a Little Jig!!!!!

So why am I sitting here behind the computer, while the beautiful day passes by my window?

What am I thinking of?????

I set a goal too update my website by October 1st.

Oh no, October 1st is here.

YAY!!  WHEW!!!  just made it.

Website is totally redesigned and new paintings added.

I feel as free as the breeze, as I have been procrastinating big time, and friends who are only interested in paintings have thought I was lost between Maryland and North Carolina!

If you can take a bit more "sharon stuff" please drop by and see what is going on at S. Furner Fine Art.

Now I am off to the Farmer's Market to pick out the orangiest of pumpkins!!

Then maybe some s'mores this evening over a fire.

Big Mama Where Have You Been?

 Perhaps you have noticed that
Big Mama
has been absent for a few days.
She has been on a photographic journey.

Can you guess where she has been the last seven days?

Wish the grand-kiddies held this still for pictures!!!

Skies are magnificent everywhere. They are heaven's roadmaps.

The days held hazy, lazy clouds, which provides  POP for COLOR.

Big Mama wanted to ride the red canoe, but feared toppling into the water and ruining a gazillion photos! Stay dry and sand free was  her motto.

Hmm she must have taken for a stroll....watch out for flying seagulls.

Ah, here she is....taking in a wave or two, in the softly shifting ripples at low tide.

What isn't mesmerizing about WATER, anywhere, any place, any time.

Take Joy oh Thursdays

Very seldom do I cross post on my two blogs, but this one has

such cute photographs and I love the theme of finding JOY that

I did, done, do it. I apologize to those who look at both blogs.

Recently bouncing around in the blogosphere I ran across

Meri's Musings

Each Thursday she suggests something that might bring us JOY!

Joy reaches into all the nooks and crannies of life. One only needs eyes and hearts to discover.
Joy is always somewhere!!
